Dear Parents,
This year we are fortunate that the Jewish Holiday of Lag Ba’Omer falls on Sunday, May 6. It is a holiday that is occurs on the 33 day of the Omer (the counting of the 49 days between Pessach and Shavuot). In Israel, this holiday is celebrated with bonfires and roasted potatoes, but in Arlington we will obey the fireban and celebrate this holiday instead with the Maccabiah Games, the Jewish Olympics.
School will still begin at 9:30am and let out at 12:00noon, but depending on the weather we will have races and games outdoors or indoors. We will also have a bounce house, grill hotdogs, and have chips and popsicles.
Please make sure the kids are wearing tennis shoes and clothes that you wouldn’t mind if they get dirty. We will have waterballoon fights (if the weather is nice) and you might want to bring a change of clothing or towels before you pick them up and put them in your clean car…
The whole family is welcome to join us, younger siblings and parents - fun fun fun is the goal here.
See you there,
Danielle
