Campus Mitzvah Days/Rakin with Ruach – A Rousing Success!!

On October 7 and14, members of our congregation participated in our campus Mitzvah Day project. The first phase of this project focused on trimming bushes, trees, and grass around the sanctuary and religious school. In addition, we also took down the old fence in the grassy area adjacent to the religious school parking lot. If you have not had a chance to see the change in scenery, we encourage you to do so next time you come to the synagogue or religious school.

A special thanks to Ben Weiger, our social action chair. Ben working in collaboration with Janet Aaronson, came up with this project. He then spearheaded efforts to form a Campus Mitzvah Day organizing committee and set up a planning meeting for this event.

A special thanks to our wonderful Rakin with Ruach organizing committee members for their efforts. They include:

These folks helped to identify the upkeep and maintenance required for the outside areas surrounding the sanctuary and religious school. They also conducted inspections of the interior portions of the sanctuary for future Mitzvah Day projects.

A special thanks to our congregants, who brought their garden tools, trimmed the bushes, trees, and grass, and either stuffed 40-ton garden trash bags or carried debris to pile locations adjacent to the sanctuary and religious school.
