Nomination Speech by Stuart Snow

Good evening. I am grateful for many things…

The confidence that you, the congregation, have placed in the next board and me to lead our congregation during what promises to be, a most exciting time!

The blessing my wife has granted me to pursue my destiny to serve our Beth Shalom community with honor and distinction.

The leadership, direction, foresight and stewardship that exemplifies the Schneider administration and the man who bears its name. Barry will transition from President to my Consigliore. A better advisor and friend no man could ask for.

A willing board that shares in my vision of a vibrant congregation elevating in spirit and direction on its journey to discover itself and the divine.

The Baal Shem Tov, the founder of the Chassidic movement and its philosophies, preached the concept of “Ahavat Israel”; love of your fellow Jew, as the pivotal cornerstone of Judaism. This is a precept that I take to heart and try to earnestly emulate. Accordingly, I wish to thank Beth Shalom for giving me the opportunity to perform a mitzvah in the service of others- which after all, is the highest honor one can bestow upon another.

May we always be worthy of your trust.

In closing, I Am reminded of remarks first uttered by Winston Churchill, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give”.

For a sneak preview of the direction a Snow administration would like to go, may I recommend that you attend our New Member Shabbat and Installation Dinner and Service on Saturday December 14th.

Thank You.
