Dr. Sosland’s talk will be focused on how Arabs and Israelis have cooperated over water resources, despite their conflict, and how this affects the substance and conduct of American foreign policy in the Middle East. Dr. Sosland’s talk is based on his recently published book, Cooperating Rivals: The Riparian Politics of the Jordan River Basin (SUNY Press). Dr. Sosland is a faculty member in the Department of International Business and Trade at American University in Washington, D.C. His current research focuses on the impact of Qualified Industrial Zones on the Arab-Israeli peace process.
