taking children who have lived a life of hardship and often neglect, and immersing them into a carefree, youthful day camp environment where they can experience the childhood pleasures that they so greatly deserve. Listen to their laughter as they chase
each other on the grass and play Marco Polo in the swimming pool. Notice the genuine smiles as they build their own one-of-a-kind tool box, sing funny songs at the lunch table with their new best friends, or finally score their first goal in soccer. Now open your eyes and realize how
much Camp Impact has “Impacted“ these children’s lives in just five Days! New Friends

A Different View of Life
Where is it
Camp Impact is located at a Girl Scout camp in Texas. The beautifully forested campground is fully equipped with a spacious lodge used for all meals and several camp activities, a large swimming pool, a rock-climbing wall, and many campfire circles in which song sessions and games take place. The natural surroundings create a very serene atmosphere where children can enjoy and appreciate Earth’s wonderful gifts. From the thrilling tarantulas to the many rabbits that wander the premises, the campers experience a wide variety of wildlife.
How are we
Multiple sources fund Camp Impact. Each counselor contributes money towards themselves and a camper. We also write many grants to different associations throughout the year. With a donation of $100 or more, your name or company name can be placed on the back of our camp T-shirt. With this donation, you will also receive an official Camp Impact T-shirt designed by our counselors each year.

What is
Camp Impact’s mission is two-fold. We hope to break the cycle of violence and despair perpetuated by the neglect of the children we serve. We endeavor to promote social responsibility for our youth members and our greater community. It is our desire that we will be able to continue providing this experience instilling both hope and a social consciousness in the children we serve so that they will carry it with them into adulthood.
Who are our
Camp Impact counselors range from 8th grade to graduating seniors in high school who are members of ARFTY and The National Federation of Temple Youth (NFTY). Each counselor is selected through an application process in which he or she answers questions dealing with their experiences in caring for young children.
Upon being selected, each counselor must attend five monthly meetings to participate in planning for camp activities. The first day of camp is set aside to train counselors for the journey ahead of them. In this one-day experience, we develop leadership, safety, organizational, and child-developmental skills by intense workshops with Social Workers.
Each counselor also pays a fee of $100 ($50 for themselves and $50 for a camper). All counselors volunteer not only their time and money, but also their heart and soul for every camper who steps off the bus.
Who are our
Camp Impact selects campers from the indigent populations of Arlington and Grand Prairie, Texas. Most of our campers would not be able to afford a summer camp otherwise. We provide transportation to and from the shelters or schools for every camper. We hope to bring out the child in each camper and to give him or her five days of worry-free fun.
How Can You
We are always looking for new ideas and activities to make Camp Impact even better in the future. We also appreciate donations, from monetary to arts and crafts, to paper goods and entertainment. If you would like to help please e-mail us at frat32@aol.com or write to: Camp Impact
