Sylvia Gray Chaverim

In June of 2001, Congregation Beth Shalom formed 50s Forward to offer programming to our senior population. The group met monthly alternating between weekdays and Sundays offering a variation of times to accommodate our working and retired members.

Sylvia Gray and Miriam Ward steered the group for several years arranging programs and preparing the delicious lunches and brunches. Under their loving and generous guidance, the group welcomed Beth Shalom members and community members, many of whom still attend and enjoy the companionship of the group.

Our congregation lost a wonderful friend when in May of 2005 Sylvia Gray passed away. In her loving memory, 50s Forward is now known as the Sylvia Gray Chaverim, truly a group of friends who enjoy gathering together.

The Chaverim welcomes all who look for friendship and fellowship and encourages your participation.
